DATA RETENTION
Keep what helps. Remove what no longer should remain.
Effective August 12, 2026
Homara limits retention to what is reasonably necessary to operate the service, preserve home records a homeowner chooses to keep, meet security and legal obligations, and resolve billing or support issues.
Home records and conversations
Home profiles and records remain available while an account is active. A homeowner may remove eligible records earlier. Conversation and assessment data are retained only while useful to provide the requested guidance, maintain the homeowner’s history, improve safety and reliability, or meet an applicable obligation.
Photos and uploaded files
Uploaded home photos and documents receive a default retention deadline of 365 days. Homeowners may delete eligible files earlier. Files are validated and scanned before storage, and rejected files are not retained as home records.
Scheduling and communications
Appointment, consent, delivery, opt-out, and operational communication records are kept as needed to coordinate requested service, honor communication choices, investigate delivery failures, and document compliance. Message content is minimized where delivery metadata is sufficient.
Billing, security, and audit records
Transaction, dispute, fraud-prevention, security, and audit records may be retained longer when required for accounting, legal, abuse-prevention, or incident-response purposes. Such records are isolated from ordinary product use when they are no longer needed for an active account.
Account deletion
Account deletion begins with a seven-day reversible safety window. After that window, eligible active data and private files are deleted or de-identified through audited, retry-safe jobs. Legally required records are restricted and removed when their obligation ends.
